Venice again this year, as in 2019, earns one of the first places as the greenest city in Italy. The new urban planning measures and the new building regulations have led to the planting of 13,712 trees from 2015 until today.

Since the time of the Serenissima, forest management systems have been set up in Venice to protect the wooded heritage of Venetian possessions.

The municipality of Venice is made up of 442,482 plants, trees and shrubs that not only make the city more aesthetically beautiful but also contribute to the health and well-being of all its citizens.
