From yesterday, throughout the month of October, you will be able to see the Alilaguna pink vaporetto moving around the waters of the Venice Lagoon. Silent because it is electric, yesterday, October 3, it crossed the Grand Canal to inaugurate the Pink October awareness activity, the world month of breast cancer prevention.
The pink vaporetto was designed in 2018 by Rachele Sacco for Alilaguna. Over the years, the project has significantly expanded thanks to the collaboration with the Municipality of Venice, LILT, the Department of Prevention and the Breast Unit of Ulss 3 Serenissima.
The inauguration that took place yesterday did not consist of a simple “promotional trip”: the purpose of the vaporetto is in fact to meet the needs of the townspeople and citizens of the city of Venice.
Set up as a “floating clinic” it will be able to offer free visits on all Fridays of the month and throughout the month of October it will also go to all the islands of the lagoon with the aim of informing about the issue and encouraging prevention.
