Few will know of the existence of a Labyrinth in one of the islands surrounding Venice, we are talking about the Labyrinth of Borges, on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice.

The peculiarity of this path lasting about one kilometer is that it is made up of over 3200 boxwood plants that until now could only be admired from above or from the entrance. It is one of the 10 Italian wonders elected by the competition “The most beautiful park in Italy”.

The path stands out in 2,300 square meters of paths created by hedges and bushes arranged in such a way as to form the surname of the one to whom it was dedicated: Borges. Wanted by his wife as a sign of her husband’s love for the splendid Venice.

The opening of this magical place is the result of the synergy between public and private entities, including the collaboration of the Giorgio Cini Foundation and the La Fenice Theater Foundation. The particularity is also given by the choice of accompanying visitors, instead of with the classic audio guide, with a musical piece lasting 15 minutes called “Wolking the Labyrinth” performed by the Orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice and produced by the D’Uva company.
