At the Correr Museum, there are the first works by Canova, who at the age of 17 opened his own atelier in Campo Santo Stefano.

Antonio Canova died in Venice on October 13, 1822. In the Basilica dei Frari in Venice there is the funeral monument to Canova, built by his students to guard the heart of the famous Venetian sculptor.
