Venice during the month of September welcomed numerous organ concerts on the occasion of the XII edition of the “Gaetano Callido” international organ festival.
On Friday 30 September, the Basilica dei Frari will welcome the closing concert of the Festival. The particularity and uniqueness of the event is given by the fact that the evening will represent one of the rare occasions for high organ performance in Venice. The two historical organs, a Callido and a Piaggia with a single keyboard, positioned above the wooden choir of the Frari, will play together on the occasion of the event.
The Basilica dei Frari will host the Portuguese organist Rui Fernando Soares and Nicolò A. Sari who plays regularly both in the Basilica and in San Trovaso. The program will range from Monteverdi to Vivaldi, Bach and Gabrieli.
With the Linea Rosa service, active every day from 09:00 to 18:00, which connects San Giuliano to Fondamente Nove with a 20-minute walk you can easily reach the Basilica dei Frari.
