Ninety years of history, 79 editions.

The spotlights are turned on on the famous red carpet of the Venice International Film Festival, which kicked off with the inaugural ceremony at the Palazzo del Cinema on the Lido.

The exhibition aims to promote knowledge and dissemination of international cinema in all its forms of art, from entertainment to industry, key words: “freedom and dialogue”.

This year a section is dedicated to the enhancement of restoration operations of classic films to contribute to a better knowledge of the history of cinema, in particular for the benefit of young audiences.

As usual, the unbridled organization of parties and VIP guests from the big and small screen, and beyond, is back in full swing. Fashion and sports giants are also expected for a busy calendar of exclusive events and parties.

Today, Olivia Wilde’s “Don’t Worry Darling” screened out of competition with Harry Styles. Crowd for the British pop star in an actor version, who has just arrived at the Lido.

In competition there are “Love Life” by Kôji Fukada and “The Banshees of Inisherin” by Martin McDonagh (with Colin Farrell-Brendan Gleeson, a couple returning after 2008’s “In Bruges”, also by McDonagh).

Side Italy, now out of competition “In Viaggio” by Gianfranco Rosi and in Orizzonti Extra “Amanda” by Carolina Cavalli.
