In Venice, in the continuous search for sustainable tourism that respects the ecosystem, a new agreement was recently signed for a further five years in favor of the maintenance and protection of the Sandbanks of the Lagoon, one of the most important and precious ecosystems of the environment and the territory of the Lagoon.
The project, co-financed by the European Commission’s Life + Nature 2012 program, in the experimentation phase led to the removal of 60 cubic meters of waste. The new agreement aims to raise awareness among the inhabitants of Venice and the lagoon area, starting with the promotion of new practices compatible with the territory, such as reducing the speed of boats and the responsibility for abandoning waste.
